What is a holiday for one person is another’s work – that’s the nature of the
hotel business. Ideally, everyone gains from this. What you will find here is a

For many years Kristin has strengthened our team at reception with a lot of skill, commitment and competency. She deals with wishes and enquiries at reservation as well as on site with a friendly, caring attitude and always in a timely manner – the entrance into the 'Feel-good World' of the Hotel Steiner is therefore guaranteed from reception onwards. Kristin began her career in tourism with a certificate at the Academy of Tourism in Bad Hofgastein. After several diverse work placements in hotels and gastronomy she was convinced that a career in the service industry was the right choice for her.
She gained her first experiences at reception in the Sporthotel Royer in Schladming. A winter season as bar staff at her parents' 'Schirmbar' as well as as assistant to the events management team at the Rohrmoser Adventure World count as her career stops, before she came to the Hotel Steiner in 2005. We would hereby like to congratulate Kristin for her completion of the 'ÖHV- Management –Academy'!

Our chef Franz started his career as cook with an apprenticeship at the Brennseehof in Carinthia. After qualifying he came to the Hotel Steiner at Obertauern. With his abilities and skills Franz has over the last few years worked his way up at the Hotel Steiner – from young cook to Entremetier and Springer to sous chef and then to the right hand of our Head Chef. We are proud that since winter season 2009/10 Franz finally leads our kitchen as Chef!
Franz is amongst other things: competent, committed, interested, creative and an all-rounder and therefore the ideal candidate to lead our team in the kitchen. We could not imagine the house without him.
Darmann Franz

Date of birth: 03.05. 1985
Place of residence: Döbriach, Kärnten
For over seven winter seasons Tanja has been part of our staff team. As part of our Housekeeping Team as chambermaid she ensures perfectly attended-to guest rooms and in the evenings she helps her husband Milan, who washes our dishes here, with polishing cutlery and glasses.
The German language was at first difficult to understand, however, through her ambition and commitment she quickly mastered this barrier.
During the winter season Tanja has to leave her little sons with their grandparents, however, in the summer the family is united again and are busy with setting up their own home.

‚The man for everything'
That is our janitor and technician Christian. From shovelling snow to handling luggage – Christian is always friendly and at hand when needed. For two years he has been absolutely essential to our staff team. A lot of his duties happen in the background – but are highly important for the smooth running of our house: e.g. monitoring of the indoor pool technology, control of the heating and air-conditioning units, all big and small repairs in the house, snow-removal with our shovel loader, shuttle-service, etc....
Christian is an authentic Lungauer – he completed his education at the ‚Technical College for Mechanical Engineering' in Hallein and after his national service he worked as a locksmith for the company Zanner. Two years ago we were lucky to win Christian for our business as house technician.
One of Christian’s passions is being a fireman at the station Mariapfarr. His hobbies include therefore the group of the voluntary fire service, skiing, mountaineering and touring.Christian Macheiner
