Winter in Obertauern
Writing about Obertauern as a ski destination is almost like ccarrying coals to Newcastle. You know Obertauern. Decades of skiing tradition. Metre-high snow, fantastic mountain scenery. The Beatles as icing on the cake, cosy huts and hotels that really do you good. And all this at a snow-sure altitude of 1,752 m, which guarantees skiing from November until late spring. And all this right up to the front door of our Hotel Steiner in Obertauern. “Ski in & ski out”, as we say in good Steiner.

Holidays in the Salzburger Land
There is not much to hear; scattered cowbells and the buzzing of bees. You won’t find any horseflies, gnats and the like here with us during the family summer in Obertauern. They don’t even occur up here. And you will (certainly not) miss a few unpleasant side effects of the warm season in Obertauern: There is no pollen, no mites – and also no sultry, high temperatures. Wonderful when the altitude at 1,752 m provides the most natural air conditioning ever. For deep sleep at night – to be fit for the next days. For hiking, biking or whatever your heart desires.
