The best place to go tobogganing is down to the Gnadenalm, where tobogganing enthusiasts can whizz through the day. The 6.5-kilometre-long toboggan run leaves nothing to be desired. But even after the lifts in Obertauern close, the run invites you to have some cool moments, as it is illuminated in the evening, so there are no limits to the fun you can have under the stars.

The Tauern Pass with its considerable height – at 1752 m above sea level. The distance to the Mozart city of Salzburg is convenient. Because if you don’t feel like skiing – there is so much to experience up here or around Obertauern. There is no room for boredom here.

The Hotel Steiner is situated in the centre of Obertauern with direct access to the ski area. You just need to cross the road once and you’re ready to strap on your skis.
Obertauern is situated at an altitude of over 1,700 metres above sea level and is regarded as the ski resort in Austria with the most reliable snow conditions. The resort offers around 100 km of slopes and 28 ski lifts. The winter season typically runs from late November to April, making it considerably longer than in many other ski resorts.
The nearest winter walking trail starts just about a 10-minute walk from the hotel and takes you to the Seekarhaus and back again.
