Pioneers, legends, icons—and kicking off the season in Obertauern: Skiopening Week 2026 will launch the 2026–2027 winter season with one of the most significant acts in German music history. The Fantastischen Vier—Smudo, Thomas D, Michi Beck, and And.Ypsilon—have been the poster children of German-language hip-hop for over three decades and are coming to Obertauern on November 28, 2026.
In 1991, the Stuttgart-based group released “Jetzt Geht’s Ab,” the first German-language hip-hop album—laying the foundation for an entire genre. A year later came “Die da!?!?”, the first German-language rap track to storm the Top Ten of the charts and play on repeat on the radio. What came next is music history: Hits like “MFG,” “Troy,” “Sie ist weg,” “Tag am Meer,” and “Zusammen” became the soundtrack for entire generations. Over four decades, more than a thousand concerts, and countless chart-topping hits later, Die Fantastischen Vier are still the same four originals who helped hip-hop break through in Germany.
