Water fun for the little ones
At the Hotel Steiner in Obertauern, the love of water begins in a playful way. In our swimming course at the Octi swimming school, children gain their first valuable experience in the element of water – without any pressure and with lots of fun.
Our courses are aimed at beginners (from the age of 4) and advanced swimmers. The aim is not to master swimming immediately, but to teach children safety and confidence in the water in a relaxed atmosphere. They get used to the wet element in a playful way and learn the basics and movements of breaststroke.
With a lot of patience, empathy and fun, our really great swimmers from the Octi swimming school introduce the children to the water step by step – for unforgettable holiday moments and strong self-confidence in the water.

One of the most exciting summer highlights in Obertauern is the Mountain Carts – special three-wheeled carts that take you on a thrilling ride down winding gravel paths and alpine meadows. Whether you prefer a relaxed cruise or full-speed action, you set the pace while soaking in the stunning views of the Alps. After a short introduction, the adventure begins – adrenaline and fun are guaranteed, whether you’re riding solo or challenging your family to a friendly race. Summer at the Hotel Steiner in Obertauern
From the beginning of July you can enjoy your summer in Obertauern at the Hotel Steiner. With the usual moments of pleasure – only with a view of the green instead of the usual white. From the infinity pool, from the panoramic terrace or from the restaurant, while you savour our hotel’s temptingly delicious full board – however and whenever you like, from 7.30 am to 8.00 pm.

Questions & Answers
Yes, there are several places in Obertauern where you can hire a bike – whether it’s a classic city bike, a versatile mountain bike or a comfortable e-bike. At Intersport Frühstückl in the Zehnerkar Ski Centre (Römerstraße 8), at Sportsworld Obertauern (Römerstraße 69) and at Sport Gefäll (Römerstraße 9), you’ll be well looked after with bikes and equipment. In bad weather, the Hotel Steiner offers plenty of alternatives: from the BergSPA, where you can splash about and relax, to the large indoor play area for children – including an indoor sandpit – and the cosy hotel bar and activity lounge for teenagers. Nearby attractions in the Salzburg region are ideal for day trips on rainy days. Salzburg is also just over an hour’s drive away.
At 1,740 metres above sea level, it is considerably cooler in summer than in the valley. Typical temperatures in July and August range from 15–22 °C – ideal for hiking and almost any other sport. A light rain jacket and sun protection are essential items to pack.
Absolutely. The network of hiking trails around Obertauern also offers family-friendly routes suitable for little ones.
