Swimming course at Hotel Steiner
At the Hotel Steiner in Obertauern, the love of water begins in a playful way. In our swimming course at the Octi swimming school, children gain their first valuable experience in the element of water – without any pressure and with lots of fun.
Our courses are aimed at beginners (from the age of 4) and advanced swimmers. The aim is not to master swimming immediately, but to teach children safety and confidence in the water in a relaxed atmosphere. They get used to the wet element in a playful way and learn the basics and movements of breaststroke.
With a lot of patience, empathy and fun, our really great swimmers from the Octi swimming school introduce the children to the water step by step – for unforgettable holiday moments and strong self-confidence in the water.
Swimming course
We have really fantastic swimming instructors in the house – directly from the ‘Octi Swimming School’! First and foremost Martin Grunert, who put a lot of heart, patience and a good dose of fun into their lessons.
With them, your kids don’t just learn breaststroke – they immerse themselves in a world full of play, movement and water fun. In small groups with a maximum of six children, our trainers have enough time to devote to each little water sprite individually. Whether shy puddle splashers or wild water dragons – here every child is picked up exactly where they are.
And the best thing is: if your child really gets into swimming, you can reward them with a swimming badge on top – for just €5! This not only brings a sparkle to children’s eyes, but also a little bit of pride to take home.
From 4 years
While the children learn to swim with joy and ease, you can really enjoy yourself in our BergSPA. Time for yourself – adventure in the water for the kids!
We provide all the equipment needed for the swimming course directly at the hotel – so all the children need to bring is a good mood and swimwear.
In order for the swimming course to take place, at least two little water rats are needed and a maximum of 6 children are allowed to take part so that everyone gets something out of it.

You can book the course when you book your room at the Hotel Steiner or simply decide when you arrive. The course is for children aged 4 and over and comprises five 45-minute sessions and costs just € 110 – an investment in safety, fun and new skills in the water!

- Can also be booked as a private session for € 50 per 30 minutes on request

Mermaid swimming
Directly in the Alps
Glide through the water like a real mermaid or merman for once in your life – what childhood dream could be more magical? At the Hotel Steiner in Obertauern, this dream becomes reality!
Here’s what you can expect from mermaid swimming at the Hotel Steiner:
- Suitable for children who can already swim and from the age of 6
- Approx. 60-minute course unit in a group for just € 35 per child
- Can also be booked as a private unit on request for € 55 per 30 minutes
- Fins and costumes are of course provided by us
- Supervision by experienced and empathetic trainers
The children can immerse themselves in a dream world and mermaid swimming becomes an unforgettable experience. And all this in the middle of the Alps!

While the little ones swim, the adults can relax.
While the children learn to swim with fun and safety, you have a whole hour to either make yourself comfortable with a drink in our bar lounge or terrace or you can use the opportunity to enjoy the time in the adults-only area and relax. This makes the swimming course a little break for mum and dad too.
