Snow as far as the eye can see
Welcome to the most beautiful snow hole in the Alps. From November to May, we really do have plenty of white gold up here at over 1,750 metres above sea level. Spread over imposing mountains and over 100 kilometres of pistes. With fine family pistes including practice slopes, with black adrenaline runs and fun fun parks anyway. You can leave your skis on for a while. Until the next refreshment stop. This is particularly enjoyable at Hotel Steiner. Because when you ski-in ski-out in Obertauern, our lunch buffet is always close by, as are the pools and the play world of our child-friendly hotel in Salzburger Land.
But it doesn’t always have to be the skis. We also have snow off the piste. For tobogganing and cross-country skiing, for big snowmen and little snow angels. And sometimes we simply trudge through the deep white. On groomed winter hiking trails or with snowshoes. This offers an extraordinary experience of nature. When the forests are silent and the air is fresh.

Escape the heat
It’s nice when it gets really warm again. We also really enjoy sweating in our saunas. But when it’s hot down in the valleys, we’re glad that we can escape the heat up here. At an altitude of around 2,000 metres, it’s still a wonderful place to hike and bike. And when you reach the summit – with your own muscle power, an e-bike or the summer mountain railway – you feel really good. On top.
Speaking of on top: our adults-only rooftop SPA with infinity pool and views is also located there. Letting yourself drift away here is particularly good after a mountain tour. And makes your summer holiday in Obertauern perfect.
