The ski season is open and Obertauern shines as the most snow-sure ski resort in the whole of Austria. Guaranteed snow – in December? You read that right! Obertauern is the most snow-sure ski resort in Austria. Perfectly groomed pistes thanks to the altitude (1750 to 2526 metres above sea level). The lifts start operating at the end of November and run until 1 May. A little insider tip: December is our favourite month, the pistes are even quieter and the conditions are simply breathtaking.

Families with children who are not of school age will find the ideal conditions in Obertauern to introduce their little ones to skiing. Even more space on the slopes where the little piste racers at our partner ski school Koch conquer the slopes playfully and with lots of fun. No hustle and bustle, the slopes still offer plenty of space and you can enjoy the relaxed atmosphere with every turn. In the Obertauern family ski area, kids can really let off steam on the Bobby Round, the Bobby Land, the Monster Park and the ghost train. Learning to ski – a sense of achievement guaranteed.
More than just skiing
More than just perfect pistes. After a day in the snow, pure relaxation awaits you and your family at Hotel Steiner. Our indoor play areas such as the sand playground or the forest playground are ideal for relaxing after an exciting day of skiing. And while the children are having fun, the adults can unwind in our adults only rooftop mountain spa. What could be better than relaxing in the infinity pool after a day on the piste and enjoying the breathtaking mountain views?

Of course, the palate is not neglected either and can be delighted. Thanks to the full full board, you start the day with a hearty breakfast, fortify yourself with lunch (from 12:00-16:30) from the buffet and end the day with 3 different 5-course menus. An all-round experience for all the senses.
