There is enough snow for everyone!

In Austria’s snowiest winter sports resort, over 100 kilometres of the finest slopes await beginners, advanced skiers and daredevils. In addition to the excellent snow conditions at 1,740 metres, there is so much more to a perfect skiing holiday. The piste for the first turns in the morning can be reached on foot from every accommodation, the huts offer the best culinary delights as well as the cosiest deckchairs, and if that’s not enough, you can really let off steam with snowkiting or end the day with a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride. This makes your winter holiday in Obertauern a pure pleasure and an unforgettable experience at the top!

The Chairman

Bergrat honoris causa Alois Westhamthaler has not been Minister for Snow Safety for long, but he has been in Austrian politics for a long time.
He knows how important snow is for his region. His family members have always had great influence as bankers inside. With the help of the big silver spoon, Alois has also come a long way. What cannot be regulated with laws and words, good old money regulates. But if the snow doesn’t come, the problem he and his ministry are now facing cannot be solved with money, words or tantrums.

The Liftman

Johnny Schneeweiß, is a sixth-generation liftman. When he’s not busy making sure his guests have a smooth ski day, he loves to tell tourists stories about Austria’s snowiest winter sports resort.

Obertauern.

For him, Leberkäse is not just a clumsy food intake, but a religion. He can proudly claim to have tasted over 300 different types of Leberkäse in various butcher’s shops in Austria.

The ski instructor

Melanie is at home in the mountains. She abandoned her geography studies when she fell in love with the mountains after an excursion in Austria. In the meantime, she is a seasoned ski guide of the “old school”. In the Ministry of Snow Safety, she hopes to further expand her influence and would do almost anything to move up the hierarchy.

The policeman

Chief Inspector Plamberger would like to be a daredevil, but in the end he has only become a post commander. The only time there is really anything going on is the ski season, which he always looks forward to with great joy. Lost ski equipment, bar fights and tourists stuck in the snow without snow chains.

The hunter

Jägermeister Sepp has been hunting for as long as he can remember. All his male ancestors and descendants were and are hunters. He has never really left his village. Why should he? It is and remains most beautiful at home. His wife is responsible for organising all the village festivals and wins the “cream slice of the year” award every year. He is proud of that. What annoys him is that he has never made it onto the cover of the Jungjäger calendar. When he really wants to switch off, he goes to the regulars’ table in Rosi’s hut. It is to her that he delivers most of his hunted trophies. So to keep the forest going and his forest-green pockets full, he too depends on tourism in the village. Too many regulations and laws would make hunting more difficult for him, but they apply less to him.

The stenographer

Sibylle, 35, ambitious, Master’s in Tourism Management, Since taking the position of Chief Assistant to the Minister of Snow Safety, she has been hoping for the necessary impetus to finally lead a more adventurous life. Although her idea of adventure is actually limited to wearing her hair down on a Tuesday instead of in a strict braid. However, she will soon experience an adventure the extent of which she could not have imagined before.
