Hike, bike & discover in a playful way
Close to the summit with the cable car
From the wide mountain panorama to the small natural wonders of the forest and alpine meadows. Turn your gaze to the horizon or marvel at an anthill. Rock-spotters or magnifying glasses – it’s best for explorers of all ages to always have both with them, in their hiking rucksack or mountain bike bag. It doesn’t matter, because hiking in Obertauern is just as exciting as biking in Salzburger Land. For the children and their parents anyway.
A special treat: because Obertauern is already situated at 1,750 metres and the mountain lifts take you even higher in summer and winter, the summits are very close even for the youngest mountaineers. And so the family hikes become a spectacular high-altitude experience, even if the short legs don’t want to carry you that far yet.

In the pool & by the lake
Admittedly, the mountain lakes up here are fresh even in midsummer. But the view when stand-up paddling at Krummschnabelsee is all the more beautiful. Of course, this also applies to pedal boating at Grünwaldsee. And if you don’t need it to be too cold, but still long for a dip in the water? Off to the wellness hotel with the kids, the indoor pool is waiting!
Winter pleasures
Snow-white holiday with the kids in Salzburger Land
Ski slopes of all levels of difficulty on the hotel doorstep, ski school and children’s snow parks just around the corner. And always plenty of snow for snowmen and snowwomen, snowball fights or snow angels. Ski-in ski-out in Obertauern – a blast for you and your children on holiday in Salzburger Land.
There’s also plenty to do away from the pistes for young and old: tobogganing, horse-drawn sleigh rides, smooth cross-country skiing, snowshoeing. Winter lovers will be delighted.

As spectacular as the Alps are, their weather conditions are sometimes unpredictable. At any time of year, in fact. But at the Hotel Steiner, we defy every snowstorm and downpour. In addition to the family wellness area, we have set up a large indoor play area with sand playground, climbing facilities, wood workshop and studio in our child-friendly hotel in Salzburger Land. In the Activity Lounge, youngsters will find a place to chill out in the hotel.
And as a guest at the Steiner, you don’t have to go out to eat well anyway – because the full board at the hotel ensures that both the grown-ups and the little ones can enjoy themselves from morning to night, whenever they want.
